East Side Punks

In 2019, I began an ongoing project in conjunction with Razorcake (a bona fide 501(c)(3) non-profit punk magazine) and director Jimmy Alvarado documenting the beginnings of punk in East Los Angeles. The project, called East Side Punks, began in the early 2000’s when Jimmy began filming and recording interviews with members from the late 70s / early 80s scene. The project is funded in part by the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs and the USC School of Cinematic Arts.
